| Installing Pegasus Mail for Windows with Winsock Support |
What Pegasus allows a user to do is to download new mail from your Web web space (or UNIX) account, and to send e-mail. Any mail which resides in folders in your POP account cannot be accessed without an e-mail manager like Pegasus (WinPMail). It provides an easy way for someone to check for any new mail and to send out e-mails and files.
Installing Pegasus Mail for Windows is not very hard. You must first get a copy of the
software which can be found on the Pegasus Site
After installing the software, The Pegasus Setup program will create an icon for your program manager. Then run Pegasus by double-clicking on the new icon. The first thing you should see is the following dialog:

To enable WinPMail to work through a winsock connection, select the Preferences option under the file menu. The various fields should be filled in as follows:



Once everything is set up, using WinPMail is pretty easy. If you want to check your new mail, click on the
icon in the menu bar or
select Read new mail under the File menu. To send a mail message, click on the
icon and type your message. You can also set up address books and other standard Pegasus Mail
features.
